Nokia Lumia 920 wireless charging offered in coffee shop in Russia When the Nokia Lumia 920 was announced with its wireless charging capabilities, Nokia also revealed that there will be some places in which wireless chargers will be embedded into the tables, allowing customers to charge their phones wirelessly while enjoying a cup of coffee. The good news for those living in Russia is that it looks like wireless chargers for the Lumia 920 have started to show up in a café called the Red Espresso. This was confirmed via a press release from Nokia Russia. This is also pretty good news as it looks like Nokia is interested in offering its wireless charging service outside of the US, and hopefully it will prove popular enough that it will eventually make its way around the world.

Personally I think that wireless charging is somewhat of a novelty. After all if I am at home, plugging my phone to my charger via a cable isn’t that much of a hassle, although if I were outside, the ability to charge my phone without having to bring my charger with me while I enjoy my cup of coffee would be greatly appreciated. It also sounds pretty handy for those running low on power but don’t have a charger with them. What do you guys think? Does wireless charging make more sense at home or on the outside?

Lumia 920: The Nokia Lumia 920 is a Windows Phone 8 smartphone launched by Nokia as a flagship device on September 5 2012 in New York. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor at 1.5GHz and has 32GB of internal storage. The display is a 4.5" IPS display which features a touch screen that can be used even with gloves. Nokia: Nokia is a Finnish communications company that was the largest phone vendor (per unit) between 1988 to 2012. The company's history go back to 1871 but the Nokia that we know today (the Nokia corporation) was founded in 1967 by the merger of three Finnish companies. It is then that Nokia worked on networking equipment and was ultimately involved in the launch of the first cellular network in 1981 (Mobira Oy). Nokia because a key developer of GSM, the standard that we all know today. Although Nokia still produces a range of phones that includes entry-level handsets and Symbian smartphones, the company is counting on the Windows Phone OS to regain the share that it once had. The current flagship Windows Phone device from Nokia is the Lumia 920.
