The 1080p display has excellent color rendering

If you happen to live in the Land of the Rising Sun, and were left scratching your head as to why the Microsoft Surface tablet has yet to arrive in that part of the world, it is time to stop doing so, as the Nikkei reported that Microsoft will be bringing their Surface tablet to Japan from March onwards. This particular tablet is definitely late in arriving at Japan, considering how it first hit the US in October last year, followed by China and some 19-odd countries after that.

It would be interesting to see how Microsoft’s Surface tablet will survive in Japan, considering how there will also be other domestic manufacturers of tablets that run on the Windows RT operating system, including Fujitsu and Sony. Outside of Japan, a 32GB Surface RT tablet is said to retail for $499 a pop, which is $100 more affordable compared to a comparable iPad in Japan, and the 32GB model is tipped to carry a 50,000 yen price tag in that part of the world. Do you think the Japanese will embrace the Microsoft Surface with gusto, or will it remain a niche device?
