lg-nexus5A couple of days ago, we brought you word that LG might not be working on a next generation Nexus device, which means there is a very strong possibility that there is no Nexus 5 to follow up from the current Nexus 4. LG however, did issue a statement, saying “What Mr. Won Kim said is that we are not currently working on a Nexus 5, which is true. But that doesn’t mean we would turn down the opportunity.” Having said that, word on the street has it that LG’s Mobile Communications department has already been working on a prototype of the Nexus 5, which has been undergoing testing for the past one month. As to the reason why there has been no image leaks, well, it means the extremely strict security conditions have proven to work well.

Not only that, apparently this Nexus 5 prototype has also been shown off to Google’s CEO Larry Page. It would be interesting to see how many people would flock to the Nexus 5 if this particular potential flagship smartphone from LG were to roll off production lines, with Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie as the most likely operating system to run on the device right out of the box.
