LG NEXUS4 WHITE-01[20130524154034932]As it stands, Google has typically gone with different manufacturers for their Nexus handsets, like HTC with the first Nexus, Samsung for the second and third, and LG with the fourth, leaving us to wonder who might be next? Sony? Motorola? Well it seems that some have been speculating that LG could also be in charge of the fifth Nexus, but according to a statement by LG Mobile Europe’s vice president, Kim Won, it seems that LG might not be that interested in making the fifth Nexus. According to Kim Won, “The Nexus 4 was a great success despite the production problems for us and Google. However we do not need such a marketing success again.”

Based on that statement, it seems that LG was happy with the Nexus 4 and does not see the need to make a fifth-gen Nexus. Of course it is entirely possible that something could be lost in the process of translation, so don’t take it as a certainty for now. In any case assuming this is true, what do you guys think? Were you pleased with LG’s take on the Nexus 4? Or do you think that someone else should be given the opportunity? Or do you think the rumors of multiple Nexus devices could be true?

Update – According to a statement released by LG, it seems that Kim Won’s message was misinterpreted. “What Mr. Won Kim said is that we are not currently working on a Nexus 5, which is true. But that doesn’t mean we would turn down the opportunity.”
