torque

It was back in January when Sprint announced the Kyocera Torque smartphone. The device is one of the most rugged smartphones you can find in the market today. At the time of its release, Kyocera Torque came pre-installed with the old Android OS, version 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Sprint has announced today that it will begin rolling out Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean for Kyocera Torque from July 5th.

Most rugged devices in the market today offer decent water and dust protection, the particular device can withstand all that, and then some. It is IP67 certified and is built up to Military Standard 810G, which in layman terms means that it can remain submerged up to 1m for 30 minutes, can withstand four feet drops, low pressure up to 4572 meters, solar radiation exposure, salt fog exposure as well as heavy dust and 95 percent humidity. Inside there’s a dualcore 1.2GHz Krait processor with 1GB of RAM and a 5 megapixel rear facing camera. It also has support for 4G LTE. Android 4.1.2 for Sprint Kyocera Torque will bring international calling, email sync fixes and a host of new enhancements.
