Mike Tyson Finally Plays Punch-Out!! [Video]

Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! is a video game that will always be considered a huge influence to many gamers as not only was it one of the first sports games to be published on the NES, but it also did an amazing job at tweaking the difficulty ever so slightly so each new boxer becomes just a bit more difficult. If there’s one thing we can’t believe, it’s the fact Mike Tyson has never played his own game, that is, until recently.

When Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! was released, Mike Tyson was 21 and just a tad busy with his boxing career to check out the video game for himself. Twenty-six years later, Mike Tyson was given the opportunity to finally play the game for himself, taking on everyone’s favorite boxing chump, Glass Joe. As you’ll see from the video posted above, Iron Mike has a little bit of trouble trying to take down Glass Joe as he tires out Little Mac while attempting to take him down.

In the process of trying to beat Glass Joe, we can see Tyson really getting into the game as he makes sound effects, moves his body around, and taunt Glass Joe while he plays Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!!. It really is a cool moment and one we’re sure you’ll appreciate.
