samsung_sgh-i187_0While Huawei might have spoken up with regards to the recent Microsoft-Nokia acquisition, other Windows Phone OEMs such as Samsung has yet to step forward to say anything themselves. However in spite of that, it looks like Samsung might still have a couple of Windows Phone handsets headed our way, and thanks to a recent filing at the FCC, a certain Samsung SGH-i187 has been sighted, and now according to the ever reliable @evleaks, it seems that we can look forward to the SGH-i187 being known as the Cronus and according to its FCC filing, it looks like it will be headed onto AT&T’s network.

The device does not appear to be the most powerful Windows Phone available at the moment and it will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset under the hood, although apart from that the specs of the device remains a mystery. However the good news is that given its not-too-powerful processor, we expect that the Samsung Cronus could be priced very affordably which should make it a good entry point for those looking for their first smartphone or first Windows Phone device. If anything the name sounds more like a codename rather than an actual product name, but hopefully more details will be shared soon, so check back with us later for updates.
