nintendo-3ds-sales-13-million-2013-fiscal

While the PlayStation 4 is leading all gaming related stories particularly this week, Nintendo today made a couple of announcements of its own that are likely to be very well received. The company has announced that YouTube for Nintendo 3DS is finally going to be released, it is expected to drop later this month. Through the app users will be able to search, browse and view YouTube videos straight from their 3DS console.

Nintendo has also said that the Wii U YouTube app is going to be overhauled in the next few weeks. The user interface will receive a number of enhancements whereas the app will gain GamePad focused search features. The company says that YouTube for Nintendo 3DS is going to be released in North America and Europe by the end of November. Today’s Nintendo Direct brought a few other announcements. The 3DS will receive an update in or around December which will bring Miiverse and a unified accounts system to the console. Called Nintendo Network ID, it will further enhance unification between the 3DS and Wii U by offering users to combine the balance in both accounts and purchase games on both consoles through the eShop using just one unified ID.
