Windows Phone 8.1 is probably an update that many Windows Phone users are looking forward to, especially since it is a major update and one that might be long overdue. The update will bring about various changes and improvements to the operating system, as well as introduce new features.

While the operating system has yet to be released, the folks at UnleashThePhones have released a video which shows off a phone running Windows Phone 8.1. To be more specific, the video shows off a phone running on Windows Phone 8.1 and showing off the new camera settings and UI.

Unsurprisingly the UI of the camera app resembles that of Nokia’s own camera UI. Like we said this is hardly a surprise given that Microsoft has announced their plans to acquire Nokia (the deal is still in the works, FYI), so bringing more Nokia elements into their fold would not be a stretch of the imagination.

The end result is a camera UI which looks crisp and clean and simple to use, providing the user with shortcuts to different camera settings. Of course camera quality remains to be seen although this will depend on the phone’s camera lens, processor, sensor, and so on, although the camera software does play a pretty important role as well.

In any case if you have a few minutes to spare, you can check out the video above which will take you through the camera on Windows Phone 8.1. So, who else is excited for Windows Phone 8.1? We expect more news will be shared at the BUILD conference which will be taking place later this April.
