sony-RX100-M2Just yesterday Sony officially announced the Sony A77II DSLR camera, the successor to the Sony A77 that was launched a few years ago. Many had initially expected that the 1st May announcement would also cover the RX100M3’s announcement, but a last minute rumor suggested otherwise which turned out to be true.

Instead it was speculated that Sony might announce the RX100M3 at a separate event, possibly on the 15th of May. However it turns out that we might not have to wait so long because according to Sony Alpha Rumors, they have heard from their sources that Sony has another event planned for the 7th of May which is next Wednesday.

The announcement will allegedly take place in Hong Kong and it is where Sony is expected to announce the RX100M3. It is also possible that Sony will announce the pricing of the recently announce A7s The camera was announced back in April with no word on pricing.

However a retailer in the UK had priced the camera at £2,500 for the body-only version but we have no idea if that will be the official price or if the retailer is simply speculating as to how much it could cost. Either way take it with a grain of salt for now, but check back with us next Wednesday to see if there are any additional details that can be had.
