tetris-30thJust about anyone who plays video games today would certainly have given the classic title Tetri a go, whether recently on Facebook or in the past on a Gameboy, or if one were to rewind the clock even further, at a dingy looking arcade while you continue to feed quarters into the Tetris machine, as your patience for the “I” tetrimino failed for the umpteenth time. Well, Tetris is set to turn 30 later this year, and as part of the celebrations, Tetris fans are urged to plan and register an event in their neighborhood, where they will then be in line for a chance at picking up prizes at the largest scale meetup.

First of all, as a Tetris fan, you are urged to sign up at the official Tetris page at Meetup.com before May 28 comes to a close, where the 10 largest scheduled meetups will be on the receiving a themed celebration kit. In these kits, you will be able to pick up exclusive Tetris 30th anniversary t-shirts, an autographed copy of Jenga Tetris that has been signed by the creator of Tetris, Alexey Pajitnov, in addition to a slew of other Tetris branded items. Apart from that, three meetups will also be on the receiving end of fan prize packages that are worth up to $500, applicable only for those in the U.S. Here is to the next 30 years, Tetris!
