fancybuynowTwitter has been used by all sorts of people, ranging from people who just want to share their thoughts, to huge corporations who use Twitter to share announcements, updates, new product launches and so on. The typical process used by companies usually involve a link to their website where users can make their purchase, but wouldn’t it be much more convenient to buy within Twitter itself?

Well thanks to several screenshots (pictured above) obtained by Re/code, it seems like that could be happening in the near future. As you can see in the screenshots above, it shows Twitter posts for products with a “Buy Now” button attach to them. Clicking the button apparently does nothing, but Re/code was informed that before this, the button would have taken them to a checkout page.

It should be pointed out that the products in question are being shared from a shopping app called Fancy, which according to an earlier report by Re/code, was speculated to be working with Twitter to roll out this shopping feature. However that was back in January, so we guess the project has been well underway for the past several months.

Neither Twitter nor Fancy have commented on the feature, but given that the screenshots were spotted in the Twitter app, perhaps we might not have to wait too long to see its implementation. In the meantime what do you guys think of this new feature? Would the ability to purchase products directly within Twitter itself be a useful feature you’d like to see?
