Final_Fantasy_XII_JAP_FF12Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XII was released back in 2006, meaning that it’s been about 8 years since the game was released. That being said, we’re sure there are gamers out there who would love to see Square Enix release the game, remastered in HD glory, but will that be happening? Well according to a report from Game Skinny, they claim that a tipster had informed them that yes, a HD remake would be happening.

The tipster also claimed that this would be officially announced at E3 2014 which is kicking off next week. This sounds a bit dubious in all honesty, but we should point out that Square Enix did mention the possibility of a HD remake of Final Fantasy XII. However there were conditions attached, which were that Fantasy Fantasy X/X-2 HD had to be a success before they considered a remake of the game.

We’re not sure what Square Enix’s definition of “well”, but so far the HD remake of Final Fantasy X/X-2 has been met with generally positive feedback, so it would not be completely out of the realm of possibility that Square Enix could be considering a HD remake of Final Fantasy XII that will be announced at E3. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but we’ll definitely be keeping our eyes and ears peeled, so check back with us next week to see if there are any additional details that can be had!
