While modular gadgets and accessories aren’t exactly new, we guess it’s fair to say that most of these devices got a new lease on life when Google announced Project Ara, a modular smartphone. Now we’ve seen manufacturers like Logitech attempt to create modular accessories for mobile devices, and it looks like another company by the name of Zolo wants in on the fun as well.

The company has recently launched an Indiegogo campaign in which they are hoping will fund their project, which are basically modular accessories designed for mobile devices, like smartphones. These accessories will connect with one another via magnets, which according to Zolo will not damage your device.

The idea is to “clip” everything in place so that you won’t have to worry about carrying a separate accessory or worry about cables dangling and getting lost. There will be a handful of products Zolo plans to launch as part of its ecosystem.

This includes a battery which should provide enough juice for one full charge, a short cable that can wrap around the battery via magnets, a cable clip for your existing cables, and a touch case system that will protect your phone when dropped, which will also allow you to attach the battery pack onto its back via magnets.

It’s an interesting concept and if you’d like to learn more, you can check out the video above or head on over to its Indiegogo page for the details.
