gtav_details09122014_015The Grand Theft Auto franchise has been around for many years now which means that compared to Rockstar’s latest Grand Theft Auto V, the rest of their graphics are starting to look a little dated. Does this mean that Rockstar could eventually be releasing a HD remake of all their older GTA titles?

Well unfortunately that isn’t happening anytime soon, but according to Take-Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick, the idea of a HD remake of older GTA titles isn’t entirely out of the question. This was revealed by Zelnick during Take-Two’s earnings calls in which the CEO revealed that GTA 5 had managed to sell a whopping 34 million copies to date.

According to Zelnick, “In any given year we and our key competitors launch new intellectual properties and new iterations of older properties. And occasionally, when we see a platform shift, we will take an old property and create an iteration of that in a very similar form for next-gen. And we wouldn’t rule anything out. That would be driven by the market opportunity that we perceive, and the potential for delivering a quality release.”

Unfortunately Zelnick’s statement is pretty vague as we still have no idea if and when a GTA HD collection will ever surface, but it’s good to know that they have not shut the door on the possibility, but what do you guys think? Would you love to see older GTA titles get a HD remake in the future, and would you be willing to play it?
