The last major installment in the Grand Theft Auto franchise was about six years ago with the release of Grand Theft Auto V. This means that it is about time that Rockstar release a sequel to the game in the form of Grand Theft Auto VI. At the moment next to nothing is known about the game, but a recent rumor has potentially revealed the game’s locations.

According to a post made on Pastebin by an anonymous user, apparently the upcoming game will see players return to Liberty City and Vice City, the two locations that were used in previous Grand Theft Auto titles. It was even suggested that the game is being developed for next-gen consoles, such as the PS5, because apparently this is due to the memory restrictions of the PS4.

The post on Pastebin reads, “In the title which will make you a kind of a drug lord. You will start as a small time guy in Liberty city doing odd chores and small time thefts and eventually work your way to Vice city where you will join a famous gang. You will be tasked to look after business in liberty city until you are brought back to Vice City and soon become the drug lord.”

Needless to say that you should take this with a grain of salt for now, and if the rumors are true that the game is being developed for next-gen consoles, don’t expect to see it anytime soon either. Sony has confirmed that the next-gen PlayStation is in the works, but it won’t be launching in the next 12 months. We had also previously heard that Rockstar was aiming for a 2022 release of the next Grand Theft Auto title.
