Last week Ubisoft had said that it would release Assassin’s Creed Unity patch 4 on December 15th, but it was confirmed yesterday that the release has been delayed, though it didn’t by how many days at that time. Looks like it was just one day because Ubisoft today released Assassin’s Creed patch 4. The patch comes in at 6.7GB so its a pretty significant update.

This is a much needed update. The patch is supposed to fix majority of the problems that gamers have faced with this title ever since it came out last month. Ubisoft has already released multiple patches to address these issues and many hope that the latest patch will make things better.

Ubisoft says that today’s patch is mainly focused on tackling performance issues and improving the overall experience. In a bid to enhance frame rate the team has replaced and updated portions of the Paris city map where issues were presenting themselves, this is why the patch is so large to begin with. Since previous files will be replaced the net increase to Assassin’s Creed Unity’s total size will be under 6.7GB.

According to Ubisoft the patch is going to fix frame rate drops, lost progression and game crashes. Experience with lock picking chests and navigation has also been improved. Online features like matchmaking, connectivity and companion app have all been made better.

Assassin’s Creed Unity patch 4 is being released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One today. It will arrive for the PC later this week. Full patch notes are posted here.
