If you own an Xbox One console and love the idea of being able to stream games from it to your iPhone or iPad, you’re in luck because Microsoft has since updated its Xbox app for iOS devices to enable game streaming. What this means is that you’ll be able to stream games from your Xbox One console to your iPhone or iPad and keep playing.

This will be useful in the event that someone else wants to watch the TV, or if you want to go into another room. This is similar to other streaming apps like Steam Link that lets you stream Steam games from your computer to your mobile device. However, we should note that this is different from xCloud.

Microsoft’s xCloud, for those unfamiliar, streams games from the cloud and is used by services like the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate which lets you stream as many games as you want via a monthly subscription. This version of streaming only lets you stream games that you already own on your Xbox.

Microsoft is expected to eventually launch the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate service for iPhone or iPad users, but given the still restrictive nature of the App Store, we heard that Microsoft could find a workaround by offering it as a web service instead of a dedicated app.
