[CES 2015] If you love your drone/quadcopters, you might be pleased to learn that at CES 2015, Parrot’s senseFly has unveiled the eXom quadcopter. This is a drone that comes with a host of sensors that will allow it to fly more efficiently as well as provide its controller with more conveniences, so that they can focus at the task at hand as opposed to having to spend more time controlling the drone’s movement.

The drone will come equipped with a five vision sensor that will automatically show the drone’s operator the direction in which the drone is moving, without the operator having to the turn the camera’s head manually. According to Parrot, this will be similar to visual parking displays that can be found in more modern vehicles today.

The eXom drone is also equipped with five ultrasonic proximity sensors which will inform the operator at all times how near the drone is from objects to prevent them from flying into it, although in the event of accidental bumping, the eXom’s shock-absorbent carbon fiber shrouding should be able to protect it.

There will also be a TripleView head on board the eXom which allows for HD video capture, ultra high-resolution stills, and thermal data, all without having to swap cameras. Unfortunately pricing and availability of the senseFly eXom drone has yet to be revealed, but hopefully we will hear more about that in the near future.
