Exploding phone are scary, and why wouldn’t they? After all doesn’t it sound scary that you could be walking with your phone in your hand or pocket when it suddenly catches on fire or blows up? Yea we know, it’s not something you’d like to think about. Well it looks like we have another story of an exploding phone.

This time the phone involved is the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the place it happened was in the Krung Thai Bank in Thailand in the Suphanburi province. Usually in these cases of exploding phones, we usually see the end result, but thanks to CCTV footage, we can actually see the phone exploding and catching on fire.

samsung1The phone belonged to an employee of the bank. It was placed under the counter and apparently was not being charged when it suddenly exploded. Thankfully aside from scorch marks and the small fire, it does not seem like there was too much damage or that anyone was hurt in the process.

samsung2It is unclear as to why the phone exploded and it does not seem like Samsung has had a chance to comment on the matter yet. It is also unclear if the battery used in the phone was of the third-party unofficial kind, or an official Samsung battery, but either way if you want to check out the phone exploding, you can do so by watching the video above.
