We spotted a countdown time on Pebble’s website last week which was counting down to something mysterious. The countdown will finish tomorrow and that’s when the company will make an official announcement. However it was reported recently that Pebble could launch a new smartwatch with a color display as well as new software on February 24th. At least the former seems to be plausible now that a render of a Pebble with color display has been leaked online.

This render was actually spotted on Pebble’s own website where it might have been put up ahead of time. It shows us a slightly larger Pebble smartwatch with a color display.

The display doesn’t seem to offer high resolution and we don’t seen any other colors except blue, black and white, but keep in mind that this is a render and even this is a big step up from the previous Pebble smartwatch.

Pebble’s new smartwatch is believed to be thinner than its predecessor and may even offer significant improvement in battery life. A microphone will reportedly be onboard as well which would allow for features like dictation and voice commands.

The company hasn’t commented on this leak yet, and come to think of it, Pebble really has no need to respond now given that tomorrow it is going to make the official announcement anyway.
