Amazon didn’t become one of the world’s largest online retailers by keeping itself exclusive to a few platforms. The company has a tendency to release its shopping app on a variety of feasible platforms and devices which is why it would make sense for the company to release an app for the Apple Watch. According to a new report Amazon indeed has an Apple Watch app in the works which will allow you to make purchases directly from the wrist. The app will reportedly not be too different from the Amazon app for Android Wear smartwatches.

Features that are expected in Amazon’s Apple Watch app include the ability to search for products using your voice, saving products to your Wishlist and even shop directly by using the company’s 1-Click ordering system.

These features are already available on the Amazon app for Android Wear. Besides, they are integral to the Amazon shopping experience, an app without them wouldn’t really serve the company’s purpose.

Amazon has not officially confirmed that it will release an app for the Apple Watch when it hits the market next month but TechCrunch says that the company already has the app in the works.

A spokesperson for the retail giant didn’t precisely confirm that this will happen but subtly pointed out that “We have an Amazon shopping app for Android Wear and will look to expand to other devices.”

Smart money’s on “other devices,” which most likely is a reference to the Apple Watch.
