We have been looking towards HTC for a while now to unveil its first wearable device and today the company has finally followed through. Developed in collaboration with popular fitness brand Under Armour the wearable device is called HTC Grip and it is a smart fitness tracker. Apart from a GPS the Grip has five precision sensors and HTC says it has been designed for people who are serious about their fitness goals.

The wrist-worn fitness tracker has a curved display and comes with a multi-sport mode which lets users track different types of activities. It has been designed to seamlessly sync all of the data that it collects with Under Armour Record.

Thus users get access to an interactive network which will not only track their progress towards fitness goals but will also provide training advice from fitness experts. Users will be able to invite up to 20 friends to take part in customized fitness challenges.

According to HTC “Grip will train you as if you have a team of professional experts coaching you the entire time. And it is very fun.”

The company has not shared pricing and availability details as yet for the Grip but that information shouldn’t take too long to arrive.
