oneplus-02So it was over the weekend that OnePlus released their OxygenOS Lollipop ROM for the OnePlus One. No doubt we’re sure many fans are looking forward to taking the ROM for a spin to see what the big deal is about, however at the same time there are probably users who would much rather stick to Cyanogen’s ROM.

Now previously we had heard that the CM12 ROM had been delayed but the good news is that the delay doesn’t appear to be too long. According to Cyanogen’s Steve Kondik on Google+, it looks like the release of the ROM is set for the next couple of days. In a comment that replied to one of their fans, Kondik wrote, “It’s just as frustrating for us because we are in scramble mode and really want to ship our hard work. Hopefully we’ll get the signoff in the next day or two. We’ll immediately send the OTA as soon as we get that email :)”

As to why the update was delayed, apart from certification issues, Kondik offered an explanation by saying, “The truth is that we’re just drunk and lazy. Seriously though, a new test suite came out because of MR1 literally the same day as we submitted, and so we had to redo the whole process with the new one.” In any case we’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for its release, so in the meantime OnePlus One users should hang tight, or you could always check out OxygenOS if you’re hankering for some Lollipop.
