search_noteSwapping between the desktop and your mobile device should be a seamless transition which is why modern browsers these days allows the syncing of data between the desktop and mobile versions of its software. Now you might recall last week how Google let users send directions from their desktop to mobile devices, and now it looks like they could be enabling a new feature that could allow users to send alarms and notes from their desktop to their phones.

This will supposedly be done through Google Search as well. As you can see in the screenshots above, typing in “note to self” or “send a note” will take users to a page where they can type in a note and send it to their mobile device. Setting an alarm follows a similar process where they just need to type “set an alarm” and it will take them to a page where they can set the alarm and have it synced to their mobile device.

These features are more about convenience than anything. For example if you had to schedule a meeting while you’re on phone, typing it on the computer and having it sent to your mobile device is a great way to do it on the spot so that you won’t forget later. As it stands, these features are only for those in the US at the moment, although as noted by Android Police, adding the “&gl=us” line at the end of the URL will allow you to use it even if you’re not in the US.
