GigSky-Apple-SIMSome of you might recall that in 2014, Apple launched their new iPads and with their new iPads, it came with the Apple SIM feature. For those wondering about Apple SIM, basically this is a flexible SIM card in the sense that it can be used with a variety of different carriers, so that in case one carrier’s plans do not suit you, you can always opt to switch to another (pending charges, contracts, etc.).

It was also only available in the US and the UK, although the good news is that Apple has recently managed to strike up a partnership with mobile connectivity company GigSky which has since expanded the Apple SIM plan to over 90 countries and territories as we speak. This will of course only apply to owners of the latest iPads which are the iPad Air 2 and the iPad mini 3.

Users of those iPads with the Apple SIM installed will be able to choose from a variety of short-term data plans which might come in handy while traveling overseas. These territories include Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa, and South America, just to name a few. Now for those wondering how much the plans will cost them, head on over to GigSky’s website to get the exact prices as this will vary from country to country.
