Counterfeit iPhone 4s Discovered, Runs On iOS 8

iphone-4s-review-14China is a land of many possibilities, and while they are starting to cement their permanent place as a great manufacturing hub, they also happen to have this particular stigma attached – that is, to roll out counterfeit products that range from food to consumer electronics. It seems that there were people who were capable of assembling a fully working iPhone via sub-assemblies that were purchased off the Internet a couple of years ago, and this time around, it looks like Chinese authorities picked up more than 30 iPhone 4s counterfeit handsets recently. Even more surprising was the fact that these counterfeit iPhone 4s devices ran on iOS 8, which is unheard of since all other clones or counterfeits in the past had a version of Android with an iOS theme running on top of it.

The counterfeit handsets were apparently being sold in a local supermarket from the Tongzhou Liyuan area, and those who were behind this scam were slapped with a fine that was the equivalent of $16,300. Basically, the handsets were built from scratch with unoriginal components underneath the hood, although the box was deemed to be original, complete with the real deal where its charger and headphones are concerned. Truly, they have made the act of counterfeiting into a work of art.
