lg-g3-phone-006It was close to a week ago that we heard how the LG G3 from T-Mobile would be on the receiving end of an Android Lollipop update in due time, but it looks like things are about to make an about turn. Word on the street has it that the LG G3 would miss the Android Lollipop train. That is certainly a bummer, don’t you think so? However, it seems that there is still light at the end of the tunnel, since skipping the Android Lollipop update will lead to an Android M update instead.

How did this particular bit of information come about? Well, the official Facebook account of LG over in debt-ridden Greece has seen it make mention on the lack of plans to deliver Android 5.1 Lollipop to the previous generation LG flagship. In that announcement, there were no other details provided, which means that it could very well be LG working on a direct transition over to Android M for the LG G3, but that remains speculation at this point in time, so it will take some more weeks, or perhaps months, before we find out for real.

After all, time is always the great confirmer – or destroyer, of rumors.
