alphabetYesterday, we brought you word that Google has undergone a restructuring exercise which ended up with a new holding company known as Alphabet arising, having been run by Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Of course, with that, Alphabet might also be an instance in which we might see the start of the decline of .com domains, as Alphabet decided to go against the grain with an .xyz suffix. This can also be seen to be a rebranding exercise of sorts, and this would also mean having a new logo in place. What do people think of it, naturally?

Needless to say, Alphabet has a visual identity – and that would play a very vital role in helping people understand the nuances between Google and Alphabet. Alphabet’s logo does seem to be rather rational in nature, sporting a bright red wordmark that points to it growing up. Designers as well as branding experts have been asked by the folks over at WIRED concerning the new design, and they have come up with various responses, ranging from being skeptical, as well as being very happy with the work. As for you, dear reader, what do you think? It would definitely take some getting used to, I admit this.
