windows-10-biometric-log-in

If passwords seem rather pedestrian to you Windows 10 does allow you to use face detection for access control, and you need not worry if you happen to have an identical twin. Tests show that the feature isn’t easily fooled by identical twins even if the other one tries to fool the camera by fixing their hair or removing glasses. It goes to show that the face detection feature is quite good in Windows 10.

The test was conducted by The Australian, it was an informal test where sets of identical twins tried fooling Windows to provide access to the machine.

Windows 10’s face detection feature can’t be fooled easily it seems, because it wasn’t even tricked once. During one instance it did have problems logging in both twins but otherwise only those who had set up face detection in the first place were allowed to access the computer.

It merits mentioning here that a Lenovo Yoga 3 14 was used in this test which has a very nice depth-sensing camera, results may vary on other machines with slightly less smart cameras.

Nevertheless this Windows 10 feature is quite capable of doing what it’s supposed to do, which at times is to keep your evil twin from accessing your computer.
