huawei_nexus_6p_2According to a recent FCC filing of the Huawei Nexus 6P, it was suggested that the handset could come with a microSD card slot. Given that we have heard rumors that the Nexus 6P could go up to 128GB of storage, having a microSD card slot will allow users to expand that storage even further, which is good news.

Unfortunately it seems that the FCC filing might have been mistaken. According to the folks at Android Police who have spoken with their sources, it turns out that the handset will not offer microSD card support. This is also apparently the same case for the Nexus 5X, so it looks like if you want more storage, you should buy the highest storage model possible.

That being said, we suppose this doesn’t really come as a surprise. So far based on previous Nexus releases, there has not been any support for microSD cards, so like we said it doesn’t really come as a surprise that Google won’t be starting that trend anytime soon, but we suppose there are some users who might be disappointed by this.

In any case Google will officially announce everything tomorrow on the 29th of September, so if you’d like to learn more about either device, remember to check back with us then for the details! In the meantime anyone else disappointed by the lack of microSD?
