fallout-4-gold

Fans of the Fallout franchise have had to wait for quite a long time for the new title to arrive, they will be delighted to know that the release day of Fallout 4 is not that far off. Over the past few week several details about the upcoming title have been confirmed, including what minimum and recommended PC specs are for Fallout 4, and Bethesda has now confirmed that the upcoming title has gone gold.

If you’re not familiar with the term “gold” when related to games, it basically means that the developer deems the game to be finished. This means that it has started preparing discs which will be shipping out to customers and they will receive them on launch day.

These days it’s much easier to issue an update even after the game has gone gold, we see this happen all the time, most major releases have a day one patch that’s well into several GBs and add some fixes or improvements that might not have been included in the disc.

Those who will be purchasing a disc, particularly if they’re going to play the game on PC, should keep in mind that the physical copy isn’t going to have all of the data on the disc. PS gamers will have to install the game partially using the disc and then use Steam to download the remaining files before they can head out to the wasteland.

Fallout 4 is coming November 10th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
