We expect that over the next few months and years, developers will start releasing games on consoles that will support better quality graphics, higher resolutions, and more frame rates. However this doesn’t mean that in the meantime older games will have to look terrible, at least not all of them.

In a recent update that was rolled out to Skyrim and Fallout 4, it seems that Bethesda has decided to give both of their games an upgrade, where they will now feature enhancements so that it looks better while playing on the Xbox One X. This includes 4K support and also dynamic resolution, and the best part is that the update is free. Given the enhanced graphics, it’s almost as if you are playing a new game.

These aren’t the only games that Bethesda has updated. Previously the company released updates for titles such as Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, Dishonored 2, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, and The Evil Within 2. So if you own the Xbox One X or are planning on buying it, then note that these are some of the titles that have been enhanced for the platform.

Granted developing specifically for the console would have been more ideal, but we suppose this isn’t a bad workaround.
