fcc-net-neutralityWe’re sure you guys have experienced going about your busy day when your phone rings from an unknown number. Because it could literally be anyone, you might answer out of curiosity only to find out that it is a machine calling you, or even worse, a telemarketer who is attempting to try and sell you something.

Some of us have no issues just hanging up, while some of us try to be polite and decline nicely. However the FCC wants to make your life easier and have recently announced that they will publish a spreadsheet of numbers belonging to robocallers and telemarketers. This spreadsheet will be updated on a weekly basis so that people will have the latest numbers.

The idea is that these numbers can be added to Do Not Call lists, thus allowing you to go about your busy day without having to entertain and field such calls. According to the FCC, this comes about as complaints about unwanted calls are starting to increase, with 2014 yielding a whopping 215,000 complaints alone.

In a statement released by the FCC, “Consumer complaints to the FCC are a vital tool in the agency’s work. Complaints about unwanted calls and texts are by far the largest complaint category to the agency, with over 215,000 complaints last year.” For those interested in checking out the spreadsheet, you can head on over to the FCC’s website.
