htc-one-m9eFresh off the news that the HTC One A9 will be made available via Verizon as well as other mobile carriers over in the US, here we are with word that the Taiwanese smartphone company has reconfigured one of its HTC One M9 models, calling it the HTC One M9e this time around and will target markets in several Asian countries. The hardware specifications of the HTC One M9e are clearly in the mid-range scheme of things where the smartphone food chain is concerned, and the asking price of $425 a pop (after conversion, of course) is rather steep if you were to take the other handsets in such a price bracket into consideration.

Tmall has announced the availability of the HTC One M9e, where it will sport a premium aluminum build (perhaps that is where the bulk of the cost went to) alongside stereo Boomsound speakers that are located on the front. Apart from that, there is also a 5” Super LCD display that carries a resolution count of 1080 x 1920 pixels – making it a Full HD screen.

Underneath the hood, you will find a MediaTek MT6795T chipset, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory, accompanied by a 13MP camera in the front with OIS and 1080p video recording capability, while at the back lies a 4MP “Ultrapixel” shooter. Expect HTC’s Sense UI that runs on top of Android 5.0 Lollipop to be part of the package as well. We do think that the HTC One M9e will peter out in terms of sales eventually due to the price point.
