Samsung-Galaxy-S6-Edge-Plus-04Last year there were reports that Google wasn’t too pleased with the modifications OEMs such as Samsung was making to Android, so much so that they apparently told the South Korean company to cut back on the modifications. Now interestingly enough, there is a rumor from Samsung Viet (via SamMobile) that Google and Samsung could be working together to help optimized TouchWiz.

For those unfamiliar, TouchWiz is the theme that Samsung applies to Android. It’s not exactly the sleekest UI and many users in the past have complained about how the UI makes their phone laggy. The UI has improved over the years but now if the rumors are true, Google could be helping make it even better, such as helping them overcome any bugs they might come across during the customization process.

At the moment Samsung is one of the largest Android OEMs in the world, so unofficially they could also be considered the face of Android so Google will benefit if Samsung’s UI is smooth and speedy, despite it not being stock. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but what do you guys think of Google potentially lending Samsung a helping hand? Would that increase Samsung’s appeal in your eyes?
