Apple TV_Remote_MainMenu-Movies-PRINTSeveral months ago Apple launched their brand new Apple TV, and with the new Apple TV, the Cupertino company also introduced a new platform in the form of tvOS and an accompanying tvOS App Store. Now if you’re thinking about getting your hands on the Apple TV but were worried about potentially a lack of apps, it seems that you really don’t have to worry.

According to the latest figures published by AppFigures (via MacRumors), it seems that there are more than two thousand apps already populating the tvOS App Store, a number which Apple exec Eddy Cue has confirmed in an interview with BuzzFeed News. To be more specific at the time of checking, there were around 2,624 apps available for download.

According to AppFigures’ estimates, they can see the App Store growing to about 5,000 apps in January and will be able to double that amount to 10,000 in early 2016. They are also estimating that there will be an average of 447 apps being added to the App Store on a weekly basis.

Of course one can argue whether or not we actually need that many apps, but at the end of the day it boils down to choice, and if there are more options available, it also means that there will be more uses for the device which will help boost the sales of the Apple TV.
