new lenovo teaserEarlier today Lenovo posted a teaser for an upcoming smartphone. From the teaser it looked like the upcoming handset could be made from metal. Now thanks to a new teaser image posted by Lenovo India, additional details about the handset have been revealed, namely how it will sport a pair of rear-facing speakers.

According to Lenovo, it seems that the handset’s audio technology will be powered by Dolby. “Brace yourselves for rich & powerful sound as this device is set to deliver the #Knockout punch thanks to DolbyAtmos.” However we’re not sure how we feel about rear-facing speakers, especially since it would essentially direct the sound away from the user.

In fact there have been some criticisms about such speakers in the past, like when inside a pocket, its sound will be muffled as the speakers could be pressed up against the fabric. However maybe Lenovo has tuned these speakers differently, or they might be more powerful, so it remains to be seen how effective they are.

That being said, it is still being speculated that the handset Lenovo has been teasing is basically the Lenovo Lemon 3, or at least some kind of variant. Either way it will be unveiled in full at MWC 2016 next week, so remember to check back with us then for the details.
