xiaomi logoXiaomi is definitely going to make quite a splash at this year’s Mobile World Congress, that is for sure, with the Xiaomi Mi 5 most probably being a headliner device, but does this mean that there is nothing else from the Chinese handset manufacturer for the masses? Apparently not, as word on the street has it that Xiaomi too, could jump aboard the drone bandwagon with an aptly nicknamed Mi Drone. In fact, there is yet another leak that has appeared, which would jive with some of the patent sketches of the Mi Drone seen in the past, although it remains to be seen whether this alleged drone will come with a Qualcomm chip or not.

The upcoming Xiaomi drone measures approximately 350mm in length, which means it is not all that small. Not only that, Xiaomi could very well make the Mi Band be one of the hardware options to work with the alleged drone, so that the drone will follow you around by pinging where the Mi Band fitness tracker is headed towards.

As to whether such a drone will hit the showfloor at this year’s edition of MWC in Barcelona, we will just have to be patient and twiddle our fingers until the 21st of February passes us by. Surely a drone entry should be accompanied by that of an action camera!
