It was rumored recently that Apple is looking into the possibility of making original TV shows and now there appears to be movement on that front. According to a new report, Apple is indeed pressing ahead with plans for creating its own original content, and that the company’s first original show is going to be about app developers. Some of the names attached to this project include musician Will.i.am as well as Howard T. Owens and Ben Silverman.

The report doesn’t provide more details about Apple’s first original TV show, just that it’s going to be about apps and app developers. It that “executives declined to discuss specifics, such as financing, title, timeline, storylines, episode length or how people will watch the show.”

Senior vice president of internet software and services at Apple Eddy Cue did tell the scribe that the company is going to distribute its new show across its devices. He also confirmed that Apple’s involvement in the show is more than just a place in the end credits. “This is not us lending our name, it’s more than that,” Cue said.

Many believe that original content can set the stage up for Apple as it looks to develop its own internet TV streaming service. There have been many rumors about that but nothing has materialized so far. What this does tell us is that Apple is interested in TV and if it can’t start off with a streaming service, it might as well start off with original content.
