Fans don’t seem to have paid much attention to bad reviews from critics for Batman v Superman because the movie has already broken several records and is setting some new ones as it continues its march at the box office. With $170.1 million at the domestic box office during the opening weekend, Batman v Superman is now the sixth-biggest opening weekend in history, the biggest March debut ever for a film and has made more than any previous DC film has ever made during its opening weekend.

Those are just the domestic box office figures if you take into account international box offices, Batman v Superman made over $420 million worldwide. Warner Bros. will be happy with the opening weekend take as it can now justify its $250 million budget for this movie.

Critics might not have liked Batman v Superman but the fans seem to like it very much. Online reviews from critics and fans are polar opposites, and fans have already voted for the movie by spending a phenomenal amount of money to go see this movie in theaters.

The success of Batman v Superman sets the stage nicely for the upcoming movies in DC’s cinematic universe which include Wonder Woman, new Batman films as well as two Justice League films that have already been confirmed.
