In the middle of May, it was reported that Robert Pattinson was close to securing a deal to become the new Batman. This followed reports of Ben Affleck who announced that he would be stepping down from the role, leaving many to wonder who could possibly take up the role as the Caped Crusader.
With Ben Affleck officially stepping down from his role as Batman, many are wondering what will become of the Matt Reeves standalone Batman movie. The good news is that the movie still seems to be on track, and now according to a report from Variety, it looks like we have our new Batman in the form of actor Robert Pattinson.
The standalone Batman movie has felt like it was all over the place as there was a bit of confusion as to who will star in it, who will direct it, and so on. In fact at one point in time he was expected to direct and star in a standalone Batman movie, but that did not happen and a new director was found in Matt Reeves. It was expected that while Affleck might not direct the new movie, that he would at least star in it.
