Capcom has confirmed today that the much awaited Street Fighter 5 March update is going to be released next week. It’s going to bring the first post-release character to the game called Alex. The upcoming patch is also going to add an in-game shop to Street Fighter 5 but it won’t be possible for players to spend real money in the shop immediately.

The first of the Street Fighter 5 March update is going to be launched on Monday, March 28th. It brings Challenge Mode which is an extensive series of tutorials for fighters of all levels. It also features combo trials for all 16 characters aside from bug fixes and overall improvements. Eight-person lobbies and a rematch option for multiplayer mode will be added as well.

The in-game shop and Alex arrive on Wednesday, March 30th. For now, players will only be able to purchase content with Fight Money. Additional characters cost 100,000 Fight Money each while story mode costumes come in at 40,000 each. Fight Money is earned by playing Street Fighter 5.

Capcom had previously said that Street Fighter 5 will have another currency called Zenny which players will be able to purchase with real money but that needs more work and isn’t ready in time for the March update. Capcom doesn’t provide a timeframe on when Zenny will be brought over to the game.
