youtube_changesIf you use the YouTube app often to watch videos, you may or may not have noticed that the app looks a little different. According to various user reports, it seems that there are some users who are claiming that their YouTube app has undergone some changes. The overall design and layout remains the same, but the changes have been made to the record and upload screen.

As you can see in the screenshot above, the older version of YouTube looks like the one on the left, but there are some users who claim to be seeing the screen on the right.  The floating action button has been changed and updated to a camcorder icon. We suppose if anything, this icon is more intuitive in terms of what will happen if you were to click on it.

For those who haven’t explored the button (old or new), clicking it will take users to a screen in which they will be able to upload videos onto YouTube. This is also where other changes have been spotted. Prior to this, users were presented with a gallery-like layout with a white background and the videos that they could upload.

However according to those who see the changes, it will now sport a dark background along with a button that lets users begin recording on the spot, which is basically a shortcut to the default video app. YouTube has yet to roll out these changes to all of its users so if you don’t see it yet, don’t worry as we’re sure it should be rolled out on a wider scale soon.
