gs7-activeIt looks like history has repeated itself yet again, where the Samsung Galaxy S7 active is concerned. Its predecessor, the aptly named Samsung Galaxy S6 active, was an AT&T exclusive the year before, and it seems that this will also be the case with the Galaxy S7 active, where its full specifications have been revealed before the handset has been officially released.

No doubt with the suffix of the word “active” would see the device end up bulkier than normal, as one can tell simply by looking at it, there is good reason for the buffed up form factor. This is because it is more rugged, and will also sport a larger sized battery at stands at 4,000 mAh, which would be 33% more than the vanilla Galaxy S7.

Apart from that, it will come with a 5.1” QHD Super AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow as the mobile operating system of choice. Expect to see a 12MP camera at the back and a 5MP front-facing camera, which are also standard on the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. Expect the Galaxy S7 active to tip the scales at 185 grams with its 9.9mm thick body, as it is set to hit AT&T this June – with the possibility of June 10th rollout based on existing rumors and leaks.
