galaxy-note-7-unpacked-inviteAug 02 2016 is the date that Galaxy Note 7 fans users have been waiting for. On that day, Samsung will hold the 7 Unpacked 2016 event in New York to officially launch the phone series that started the large-display phone revolution.

This also makes it official that all high-end phones numbers will now align to 7, which makes a lot more sense in general. If you haven’t followed closely, the previous Note was the Note 5, and Samsung will be skipping the 6-series to align with the Galaxy S numbering scheme, so Galaxy Note 7 it is.

With the 7-Series, Samsung has a more coherent line-up than ever at the high-end. The S7 now covers the “small” high-performance smartphone segment. The S7 Edge covers the large display one, and the Note 7 will occupy a creative/productivity segment that remains a niche, but a popular one nonetheless.

The 7 Unpacked 2016 Event will happen at 11:00am ET in New York, and Ubergizmo will cover everything you need to know about the Galaxy Note 7. At the same time, similar events will occur in London and Rio de Janeiro. There will also be a live streaming option for everyone else to follow the event.

The technical specifications of the Galaxy Note 7 will be made official then, but it is expected to have a 5.7″to 5.8″ Super-AMOLED Display with an Edge design just like the Galaxy S7 Edge which seems like a great idea. Inside, the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 820 or Snapdragon 821, although there are rumors of a mythical Snapdraon 823 model — in any case, it will be equivalent or slightly better to the best phones right now. There may be a Samsung Exynos 8893 Note 7 variant for some market, but not globally.

The camera should be at least as good as the Galaxy S7 (which is the current best), but some are expecting something just a tad better. Having the same camera module would be consistent with past practices.
