As you might have heard, we are getting a rebooted Tomb Raider movie starring Alicia Vikander. Given that we have already been given a rebooted Tomb Raider game franchise, we guess it makes sense that the new Tomb Raider movie will be heading in a different direction with a very different Lara Croft.
That being said, the question is when will the movie be released? According to a report from Variety it has been revealed that the movie will be released on the 16th of March, 2018. This means that we still have about 2 years of waiting to go but hopefully it will be worth the wait and hopefully it’ll avoid the “curse” of video game movies, which honestly haven’t been too great.
Apart from Alicia Vikander, the movie will also see Norwegian filmmaker Roar Uthaug direct the movie, but other than that it is unclear as to who else might be in the movie and what the storyline could be, but if it’s going to be anything like the video game, it should be pretty compelling as it stars a younger and what some might call a more vulnerable version of Lara Croft.
Either way we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more information about the movie, but in the meantime who else is excited for it?
