Prisma is the photo editing app that has taken the world by storm. Unlike other apps that simply toss on a layer to your photos, Prisma actually sends the data to its servers where it is processed by an algorithm which then applies the filter in a “smarter” way. The end results speak for themselves.

So far Prisma has only been for photos, but last we heard, they were working on bringing its editing to videos as well. However until then, it seems that until then, indie band Drive Like Maris has decided to create a music video for their song Deep Blue using Prisma. How did they do it since Prisma has no video editing features?

Basically it involved editing the video first, after which they had to convert it to a square 1:1 ratio which is the only ratio that Prisma works in. After that, they had to slow the entire video down to 10fps, thus reducing the number of frames that they had to edit, even though the end result was still a staggering 1,828 images.

Speaking toPetapixel, the band’s guitarist Nitzan Hoffman said, “We figured that if we’d process 600 pictures each [Bert Albers of production house Sixteenbynine, singer Bjorn Awouters, and herself]. It would take about 5 hours per person to process everything at 30 seconds per picture. By the time we started processing the Android version of Prisma was also available so we could use iPhones and Android phones at the same time.”

If you’re curious about the end result, you can check out the video above, which we have to say is pretty awesome stuff!
