facebook filtersEver since Facebook had reportedly failed to acquire Snapchat, we have seen the social network try to emulate some of Snapchat’s features in an attempt to keep its users from straying too far. Just recently Facebook-owned Instagram launched their a new feature called “Stories” similar to Snapchat’s, although some even called it better than what Snapchat had to offer.

Now it seems that according to a report from The Verge, Facebook has already begun the testing process Snapchat-like cameras with filters and stickers that complement it. Users who have been chosen to test out the feature should be able to expect an interface like the one you see above, where you can add filters and stickers, thanks to Facebook’s acquisition of MSQRD.

If you might recall, a couple of months ago it was suggested that these features would be coming to Facebook, and sure enough it has. In a statement released by Facebook, “People are increasingly sharing via videos and photos — on Facebook and beyond, and it’s our job to create experiences that help people create and share in the ways they want.”

As to when it will make its way to all users, Facebook’s product manager Sachin Monga said, “We’re starting small, but the hope is eventually we can bring this really cool experience to people around the world — most of whom have never had the ability to experience the delight of opening up their phone and having it transform into this magical AR experience.”
