huawei-p9-review_11Is there a difference when it comes to smartphones for men and women? We’re guessing not really, since both men and women need to make phone calls, send text messages, surf the web, listen to music, and take photos, just to name a few activities, so in reality there really is no need to create male or female-specific smartphones, right?

However if the rumors are to be believed, Huawei begs to differ. According to the rumors, Huawei is apparently working on a smartphone that they have designed specifically for women in mind called the “Nova”. At this point it is unclear what kind of specs or features the Nova phone will have, or why it would appeal to women.

That being said, this is actually not the first time gadgets have been made for women in mind. Huawei themselves have actually done this before earlier this year when they launched a series of Elegant Huawei Watch models that targeted the female market. We’ve also seen wearables that have been designed to look like bracelets and necklaces that women might wear on a regular basis to disguise the fact that they’re gadgets, so this really isn’t that unprecedented.

In any case IFA is coming up in the next week or so, so we guess we’ll find out more then. In the meantime what do you guys think? Anyone out there interested in owning a female-specific smartphone?
